New Delhi: Ahead of the India-Australia virtual summit on 4 June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison engaged in a friendly banter over ‘samosas’ Sunday.
Morrison took to Twitter Sunday to share a picture of samosas — nicknamed “ScoMosas” — with mango chutney that were made “from scratch”. Tagging PM Modi in the tweet, the Australian PM said he would have liked to share the popular snack with the Indian leader.
To this, Modi responded by saying that the two countries were “connected by the Indian Ocean” and “united by the Indian samosa”.
Connected by the Indian Ocean, united by the Indian Samosa!
Looks delicious, PM @ScottMorrisonMP!
Once we achieve a decisive victory against COVID-19, we will enjoy the Samosas together.
Looking forward to our video meet on the 4th. https://t.co/vbRLbVQuL1

Sunday ScoMosas with mango chutney, all made from scratch – including the chutney! A pity my meeting with @narendramodi this week is by videolink. They’re vegetarian, I would have liked to share them with him. pic.twitter.com/Sj7y4Migu9

Both leaders also mentioned the 4 June meet in their respective tweets.
Virtual meet to discuss defence ties, maritime cooperation
The virtual meeting between the two nations is expected to focus on defence ties, maritime cooperation and strengthening of the World Health Organization.
Both PMs are likely to sign the ‘Mutual Logistics Support Agreement’, paving “the way for greater defence cooperation between the two countries and facilitate large-scale joint military exercises”, ThePrint had earlier reported.
