New Delhi: A software professional has been arrested in Bengaluru for murder after his air hostess girlfriend fell to her death from the fourth-floor balcony of the apartment they lived in.

Archana Dhiman, 28, arrived in the city from Dubai just four days before her death last Friday. She stayed with boyfriend Adesh in Renuka Residency in the plush suburb of Koramangala.

According to police, Archana met techie Adesh on a dating app and had been in a relationship with him for the last six months.

Deputy Commissioner of Police C.K. Baba said Archana, who worked out of Dubai, met Adesh frequently — even on the day she died.

The woman is from Himachal Pradesh and the man from Kerala, Baba said.

He also said a case of murder was registered on the complaint of Archana’s father, adding, the family suspected the boyfriend.

The couple fought frequently, Adesh revealed during questioning. He also told the police that Archana slipped and fell and was immediately rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead.

Adesh is in police custody and will be produced in a court tomorrow.
