3 burglars held, stolen jewellery worth over Rs 7 lakh seized in Latur

Latur, Jul 27 (PTI) Police on Wednesday said they have arrested three persons allegedly involved in a house burglary and recovered jewellery worth Rs 7.26 lakh from them in Latur district of Maharashtra.

The trio, residents of Aurad Shahajani under Nilanga tehsil, was arrested on Tuesday, the police said.

According to the police, the burglars targeted the house of a trader, a resident of Aurad Shahajani, who had gone out of town on Saturday with his family.

The thieves broke the lock, entered the house and escaped with gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 7, 26,700 kept in the cupboard, they said.

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the burglars, they added. PTI COR RSY RSY
