Kota (Rajasthan) Jun 28 (PTI) Two persons drowned and a teenager went missing in different incidents in Rajasthan’s Bundi district, officials said. The bodies of the two deceased were handed over to their respective family members after post-mortem on Saturday morning.
In the first incident, three youths identified as Mohit Yaduvanshi (19), a food delivery boy, Lakshya Malav (22) and his brother — all residents of the Kunjed village under the Atru police station station area in the Baran district — were swept away by the overflowing water of Bardha Dam in the Bundi district. The three were crossing a ‘pulia’ (small bridge) on Friday afternoon.
Lakshya Malav and his brother managed to swim to safety while Yaduvanshi was swept away by the strong current, Circle Inspector at Talera police station Ajit Bagdoliya said. The missing teen has not been traced so far.
In the other incident, two persons — identified as Ramchandra Paswan (43), an employee at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in Bundi and Shankar Mali, a private gardener — drowned in Dhand Talab (pond) in Kanjri Selor under Bundi Sadar police station on Friday evening.
Ramchandra accidentally slipped into the overflowing pond, and drowned. Seeing him drowning, Shankar also jumped into it to rescue him, however, he too was drowned, Circle Inspector at Bundi Sadar police station Ramesh Arya said.
Ramchandra was a native of Bihar and had been living with family in Bundi for more than two decades, while Shankar was a resident of the Thikarda village under Dablana police station of the district, he added. PTI COR MNK MNK
