New Delhi: In the world of politics, 48 hours can be a lifetime. As newspaper headlines crowned Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray the next Maharashtra chief minister Saturday morning, BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis was being sworn in for a second time in Mumbai. An NCP-Congress-Sena alliance to form the government did not materialise as NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s nephew Ajit walked over unannounced to the BJP camp. Seventy eight-year-old Pawar claimed he was unaware that a political coup of this nature was underway, and said his nephew’s decision went “against the party line”.

In this backdrop, Pawar’s daughter and Baramati MP Supriya Sule put out a WhatsApp story saying “party and family split”.

ThePrint’s Praveen Jain brings you photographs from along the timeline of this political unfurling, where Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut, NCP’s Supriya Sule, Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar, and BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis have been photographed before, during, and after the Maharashtra storm.
