Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who has earned the reputation of being “a no-nonsense L-G” comes across as an earnest yet lighthearted person. He is pragmatic, knows what he wants, and is stern with his bureaucrats when it comes to delivery of services.

ThePrint visited his official residence, the Raj Bhawan, nestled among lush green patches of land, with hills and a lake in the backdrop, to capture glimpses of Sinha’s day through pictures.

He aims to achieve as much as possible in the time he is holding office. But during his free time, Sinha loves a good vegetarian meal, followed by a walk in either his lobby area or the lawn.

His work days are long and hectic. Swift to clear files, he pushes officials on execution and delivery, and is open to meeting locals who approach him with their problems.

In an exclusive interview to ThePrint, he said “Kashmir is changing”.

In the “New Kashmir”, he said stone-pelting Fridays have become history, investors are queuing up with proposals, many developmental projects have kicked off, the unemployment rate has halved in one year, and thousands of young, aspiring entrepreneurs are availing of the government’s financial assistance schemes.
