New Delhi: After violence in Northeast Delhi last week, some sense of normalcy seemed to have returned Monday.

Children from different parts of the riot-hit areas, who stayed within the confines of their homes, finally came out on the streets — they played games and enjoyed the company of their friends.

The violence began last Sunday, leaving several buildings, homes, vehicles and shops torched. The death toll stood at 42 until Monday evening.
