New Delhi: A video clip of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia saying his party “orchestrates riots and promotes hooliganism” in the country has gone viral on Twitter.
The nearly two-minute footage, uploaded by the account Shwetank, was posted with a tweet asking if the Delhi Deputy CM had made a “blunder mistake”.
The handle is followed by several BJP members and ministers, including the official handle of Union Minister Smriti Irani’s office. The post has been retweeted over 4,800 times and has got over 11,000 ‘likes’.

BJP spokesperson Nighat Abbass shared the clip with a tweet saying, “Sisodia ji has spoken the truth for the first time.”

However, several users supported Sisodia and urged the Delhi Police to take strict action against the person for spreading misinformation.

Fact check
The video circulating on Twitter is a doctored version of a Sisodia press meet — the places where he mentions ‘BJP’ is replaced with ‘AAP’ and vice versa.
In the actual video, Sisodia can be heard blaming the BJP for inciting unrest across the country.

The video was from 4 May when Sisodia was announcing the results of a two-week-long survey conducted by the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. People were asked three questions to gauge their opinion about the BJP, Congress and AAP.
In the survey, conducted through phone calls and field visits, 91% of over 11 lakh respondents believed that the Bharatiya Janata Party was responsible for orchestrating “riots and hooliganism” in the country.
The second question: Which party has the maximum number of goons, loafers and uneducated people. “89% of respondents said the BJP, while 5% responded Congress and 2% said AAP; 4% replied others,” Sisodia said.
The third question dwelt on which party has the highest number of decent, educated and honest people. Sisodia claimed that 73% of participants said AAP, while 15% said Congress. “Only 10% said BJP and 2% said others,” he said.
“So the results of the survey have completely exposed the BJP. Other than hooliganism and engineering riots, they (BJP) do nothing. They don’t talk about schools, hospitals, employment or price rise,” the senior AAP leader said during the media briefing.
