Tweet showing Turkish stamp of Narendra Modi and hailing him as the ‘greatest leader of the world’ goes viral, it was released two years ago for a G20 summit.

A tweet by Twitter user @DrGPradhan claiming that Turkey has issued a postage stamp of Prime Minister Narendra Modi honouring him has gone viral. Tweeted late on Tuesday evening, it has now been retweeted and liked over 1,000 times.

However, this stamp was part of a commemorative series issued by the Turkish Post during the G20 Antalya Summit, which happened almost exactly two years ago, in November 2015. Stamps featuring all G20 leaders and the flags of their respective countries were presented in memory of the summit.

Gaurav Pradhan, who tweeted this, has over 104,000 followers, one of them being Narendra Modi himself.

The tweet has drawn a lot of praise for Narendra Modi, but a few others have called out the tweet for propaganda.

Despite being corrected, Gaurav Pradhan has not taken down the tweet. ThePrint has contacted Pradhan for a comment, and is awaiting his response.
