Over 10.5 lakh vaccinated against Covid-19, India’s mortality rate stands at 1.4%

New Delhi: Over 10.5 lakh beneficiaries in India have received the Covid-19 vaccine so far. The number of tests conducted in India has crossed 19 crore, since the beginning of the pandemic.

The total number of active cases in India touched 1,88,688 Friday.

In the last 24 hours, India recorded 14,545 new cases of Covid-19. At least 84.14 per cent of the new cases recorded are concentrated in eight states and UTs.

India’s total active case count declined to 1,88,688 in the last 24 hours. The active cases account for 1.78 per cent of total cases.

The total number of deaths recorded in the last 24 hours stood at 163 Friday. India’s total death toll has reached 1,53,032.

India’s case fatality rate stands at 1.4 per cent. Punjab’s fatality rate continues to be the highest in India at 3.2 per cent. This is followed by Maharashtra at 2.5 per cent and Sikkim at 2.2 per cent.

The total number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours stand at 8,00,242. Since the beginning of the pandemic, India has collected 19,01,48,024 testing samples for Covid-19.

The test positivity rate in India reached 1.8 per cent in the last 24 hours. This is a slight decrease from 1.9 per cent recorded the day before.

The overall test positivity, calculated since the beginning of the pandemic, has reached 5.6 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1,92,581 beneficiaries were immunised over 4,041 sessions.

This is a significant increase from Wednesday, when 1,31,649 people were vaccinated across 2,398 sessions. On Thursday, over 60,000 more beneficiaries were vaccinated in comparison to Wednesday.

As many as 18,002 Covid-19 patients recovered across India in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,02,83,708.

As many as 1,06,25,428 people have been infected with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in India.

Kerala continued to report the highest number of active cases recorded in India at 69,998. The state has reported 8,70,529 cases of Covid-19 and 3,545 deaths so far.

Maharashtra recorded the second-highest number of active cases in India at 46,836. The total number of cases in Maharashtra stand at 20,00,878 and 50,634 deaths.

Uttar Pradesh recorded the third-highest number of active cases at 7,717. The total number of cases recorded in the state stand at 5,97,823 and deaths at 8,597.

Karnataka recorded the fourth-highest number of active cases at 7,573. The total number of cases recorded in the state stand at 9,34,252 and deaths at 12,187.

West Bengal recorded the fifth-highest number of active cases at 6,565. The total number of cases recorded in West Bengal stand at 5,66,898 and deaths at 10,089.
