The celebrations are planned between 15 and 26 May, the day the govt took oath in 2014, and the party hopes a win in Karnataka will only add extra spark.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the BJP’s various morchas and inaugurate an expressway to mark the fourth anniversary of his NDA government at the Centre. He is also expected to present his government’s report card before the people.

This will be the first time a joint national executive of all BJP morchas from across the country will be convened. The party has seven national morchas, targeting the youth, OBCs, SCs, STs, women, farmers, and minorities.

Modi will be joined by party chief Amit Shah in addressing approximately 1,000 office-bearers of the BJP’s national and state-level morchas. All these office-bearers will gather at the new party headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in New Delhi.

“Celebrations will begin from 15 May and will end on 26 May (the day Modi and his government were sworn-in in 2014), when a tentative road show is planned on NH-24 in New Delhi — from Sarai Kale Khan till Ghazipur. It is expected that the new NH-24 flyover is likely to be thrown open to the public,” a source told ThePrint.

“It will be huge achievement, as it will reduce the travel time and decongest the stretch. However, a final nod from the PM is still awaited for the road show.”

Sources say if the party wins the Karnataka elections, whose results will be declared on 15 May, those celebrations will also be added to those already planned for the four-year anniversary.

What the morchas can expect

The sources claim that the morchas will be told about the Modi government’s achievements of the last four years, which are likely to be presented in a booklet.

“They will be told to spread the word in their respective areas. Apart from this, it is an exercise to get them ready for the 2019 polls, where they can be given specific targets to achieve,” said the source.

Government achievements to be sent to PMO

Sources say ministers have been asked to collate their achievements over the last four years and send the detailed status report to the PMO.

One of the ministers has been asked to compile a status report on employment generation from each ministry, and the steps taken for job generation.
