1,799 oxygen cylinders, 1.36 lakh remdesivir vials — India receives Covid aid from 14 nations

New Delhi: India has received a total of 1,799 oxygen cylinders and 1.36 lakh vials of remdesivir apart from other medical aid including ventilators and oxygen concentrators from 14 countries since last Tuesday.

India has been battling a second wave of Covid-19, reporting more than 3 lakh infections daily for over 10 days now. On Saturday, India registered its highest ever daily cases — 4,01,993.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, nations across the world have sent aid to India to help it tackle the mounting Covid burden. These included the US, the UK, Mauritius, Singapore, Russia, UAE, Ireland, France, Germany, Romania, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Belgium and Italy.

India last Wednesday had declined assistance offered by the United Nations of its integrated supply chain for Covid-related material, saying it had a “robust system” to deal with the required logistics.

ThePrint lists the different kinds of aid received by the Indian government from each country in the past week, according to the external affairs ministry data.

UK: 495 oxygen concentrators, 200 ventilators

US: 1,468 oxygen cylinders, 600 oxygen regulators, 210 pulse oximeters, 8.84 lakh Rapid Diagnostic Test Kits, 9.28 lakh N95 masks, 1.25 lakh vials of remdesivir

Mauritius: 200 oxygen concentrators

Singapore: 256 oxygen cylinders

Russia: 20 oxygen concentrators, 75 ventilators, 150 bedside monitors, 2 lakh packs of favipiravir

UAE: 157 ventilators, 480 BiPAPs (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure), coveralls, goggles and masks

Ireland: 700 oxygen concentrators, 365 ventilators

Romania: 80 oxygen concentrators, 75 oxygen cylinders, 20 high flow humidify oxygen therapy devices

Thailand: 30 oxygen concentrators, including 15 from the Indian Community Association in Bangkok

France: 8 oxygen generators, 28 ventilators, 200 electric syringe pumps, 28 AFNOR/BS Flexible tubes, 500 anti-bacterial filters, 500 machine filters, 500 related patient circuits

Uzbekistan: 151 oxygen concentrators, including 51 from the Indian Community Association in Uzbekistan, 2,000 vials of remdesivir

Italy: 1 oxygen generating plant and 20 ventilators (with an installation team onboard)

Germany: 120 ventilators

Belgium: 9,000 vials of remdesivir
