IAF jet crashes in J&K’s Budgam district, one dead but fate of pilots unknown

The IAF jet broke into two and caught fire in an open field near Garend Kalaan village in Budgam at 10.05 am.

Srinagar: An IAF jet crashed on Wednesday in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing at least one person, officials said.

The jet crashed in an open field near Garend Kalaan village in Budgam at 10.05 am, the officials said.

The jet broke into two and caught fire immediately, the officials said, adding one body was seen near the site crash.

The identity of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately, they said, adding the fate of the pilots was not known.

  1. The colour of the flame depends upon the material undergoing the reaction. When a metal gets burnt there is no perceptible flame. When a combat aircraft gets wracked there is a possibility for explosion of munition and generally host forces cordon off the area to avoid casualties . The latent heat force one to pull back. But people stand in close proximity and are allowed to witness the fortuity. It is an iniquitous attitude of the disgruntled elements to project that India has violated Pakistan’s air space.
