Actor Rhea Chakraborty’s arrest is the culmination of a two-month frenzy whipped up by shrill TV channels and law enforcement agencies desperate to demonstrate some action. This ugly spectacle should now make way for fair due process and she should not be reduced to a pawn in a political slugfest.

LAC firing after 45 yrs is cause for alarm. China must take full blame & responsibility to resolve it

Guns ending their 45-year silence on LAC is cause for alarm, even if it seemed inevitable after this year’s transgressions by PLA. India’s response fits Modi government’s policy of not allowing aggressors to get away. China has to take full blame for this deterioration and also responsibility to resolve it.

  1. Although Ms Kangana Ranaut is not defenceless as Ms Rhea Chakraborty was, one felt great sympathy for her as well. Her office being demolished when she was not present. The full display of state power against an individual. Power which is always used with discretion and discrimination.

  2. We should pray for EAM’s meeting tomorrow with the Chinese FM to succeed. It is one of the last restraining pins before war is ignited. Not looking good at all.

  3. Ms Rhea Chakraborty should be mentally tough. Her lawyer will get her out of this case without a scratch. I am happy that journalists are speaking up against the way she is being treated by their colleagues in the profession. Faintly, perhaps, but some members of Bollywood – who now face a fishing expedition on drug abuse – are expressing solidarity. 2. She cooperated fully with the multiple investigation, is not a flight risk, is too frail a force to influence witnesses. No justification to place her in judicial custody. Either to break her spirit or to provide blood thirsty crowds in the amphitheater with a spectacle. Yeh New India hum jaise old timers ko kuchh samajh nahin aata.
