Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s announcements to help migrant labourers, farmers and small traders do not amount to much. They can make some impact, but only over time, and that too if implemented right. These measures will hardly be able to stimulate demand in the near-term, something the economy badly needs.

  1. Can this team of experts suggest an alternative to stimulate demand in the near-term, something the economy badly needs.
    Has anyone claimed that this announcement will stimulate demand.
    All this will do is to help make sure there is no social unrest leading to food riots.
    People getting a platform to express their views need to be responsible and try and do whatever possible to create hope and positivity in these uncertain times.
