Rahul Gandhi’s presence at a Jallikattu event, a decade after the UPA ban, exposes the Congress’ hypocrisy and desperation. BJP is right in calling it out. But all parties are guilty of politicising the conflict between animal rights and tradition. Politicians must wait for the court verdict before taking sides.

Biden picking ‘Indo-Pacific Coordinator’ reassuring, but India-US must focus on trade, tech & visas

President-elect Joe Biden’s appointment of a top diplomat as ‘Indo-Pacific Coordinator’ is an important reassurance of Washington’s commitment to the strategic pivot, if one was needed. 1. Its a shame that The Print thinks so. All of these steps are necessary to deal with minority fundamentalism. To ensure national security and safety.
The Allahabad HC will be dealt with by the executive arm.

  2. As CCD would say, Work is something you do between coffee breaks. At an age when gifted US Presidents like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were starting their second terms, gentleman remains a political dilettante, like a butterfly flitting from blossom to blossom.

  3. America’s arms are wide open. India needs to come out of the factors that have earned it the sobriquet of being one of the Difficult Four ( Chatham House ). A sagging economy and stagnant foreign trade will not go unnoticed in Washington, as the Biden administration sizes up a world recovering from the pandemic. The state of India’s social fabric and other related democratic attributes are drawing global concern.
