Facing criticism for lapses leading up to the murder of pop-star Shubhdeep Singh Gill, the Punjab government is exultant that a key suspect has been held in the US. Evidence on alleged gangster Satinderjeet Singh’s role is sketchy, though. Credible prosecution is necessary to resolve questions hanging over the case.

AAP’s promise of giving Delhi RWAs ‘mini councillor’ status is impractical. The Constitution makes no provision for such a thing. It is as much of kite flying as Jan Lokpal was. But more dangerous. RWAs are elitist, undemocratic and unrepresentative. No domestic worker, gardener, vendor or guard vote in them.
