The inauguration of 44 bridges in border areas is great news, not only because they are critical but also because of the timing. India has a long way to go to match China but the new bridges should send the message that New Delhi is committed to boosting border infrastructure.

Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has opened a can of worms by publicly accusing a SC judge of corruption and bias. Jagan’s intolerance as CM is growing, but this is an unbecoming political tactic. SC should get to the bottom of this episode in the interest of its own reputation.
