Opposition leaders’ protest over expunction of portions of their Parliament speeches has much justification. Presiding officers can scrub what’s unparliamentary and defamatory. But this fails the smell test. Political and institutional morality apart, in this digital age, with live broadcasts, Parliament rules need to be in sync with the times.
