India is right in not giving in to pressure on the S-400 air defence deal with Russia during discussions with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. India must consider its own priorities and disregard CAATSA threats. Maintaining a pragmatic strategic balance between Russia and US is how it should be.
PM Modi should condemn Jharkhand lynching unequivocally, not quibble over language
Calling Jharkhand a hub of lynching is an insult to the state, says PM Modi. A clean chit to the BJP-led government in Ranchi that has done little to curb such incidents won’t help. If he is really saddened by it, he must unequivocally condemn it, not quibble over language.
THE LYNCHING OF A MUSLIM LOK SABHA MP ESHAN JAFRI
Yes in the very same house the parchark spoke, another parliamentarian gave speeches too, I refer to the good MP Ehsan Jafri , so brutally lynched in Gujarat in 2002.
The Parachark should be able to recall that lynching too.
Sanjiv Bhatt who recently got life imprisonment gave an account of the happenings that day of the Gujarat riots at the Gujarat Chief ministers house. He said beside police reports that day to the CM regarding the riots, Modi was getting reports from his own sources as well. Sanjiv Bhatt alleges in his testimony that At 10AM before Jafri was Lynched , Modi had asked “What kind of man is this Jafri, is he a violent man”. Apparently to infer from Sanjiv Bhatt allegations the mob had been fired on by Eahsan Jafri and Modi had got news of it from his own sources, Easan Jafri’s murder took place much later that afternoon.
BJP and RSS have openly justified the Ehasan Jafari Lynching by saying Jafri had fired on the mobs.

“Congress MP Ehsan Jafri could not be saved from the mobs. After making more desperate phone calls to bureaucrats in all levels of government, including the “Director General of police, the Police Commissioner, the Chief Secretary, Jafri was murdered mercilessly without any police intervention. In fact, well aware of the notion that he was a specific target, Jafri was dragged out of his own house . . . and asked to say, “Vande Mataram! and “Jai Shri Ram! He refused. His fingers were chopped off and he was paraded around in the locality, badly injured. Next, his hands and feet were chopped off. Then he was dragged, a fork-like instrument clutching his neck, down the road before being thrown into the fire”

Perhaps Asan Jafri had fired at the mob. But scores of men woman and children had been killed by the mob, but however members of the Bjrang Dal have said the mob would not have lynched Asan Jafri if he had not fired on the mob.
