ThePrint report about Indians bingeing on multivitamin supplements to build immunity against Covid proves there’s a new awareness to overcome nutritional deficiencies and prevent sickness. A handful of ‘andolan jivis’ shouldn’t upset a govt. Protests are a part of democracy

The land of a million mutinies did not lose an inch of sovereign territory in living memory. These are the safety valves of democracy. Think of the JP movement. Or individual acts like the desecration of Nirbhaya. For that matter, tens of thousands of brave Burmese, in Rangoon and other cities protesting the military coup, handing roses to the soldiers, who dare not fire, lest the world fall upon their brittle junta like a ton of bricks. Democracy is not Utopia, but it is the best we have. Let us make a success of it.
