October GST collections show economic recovery is underway with green shoots in some sectors. However, the Rs 1 lakh crore monthly collection is a three-year-old benchmark, not a cause for great celebration now. The government should follow up with more fiscal measures to boost demand and revive the economy.

This ‘love jihad’ activism by BJP leaders is disturbing. Our Constitution gives adults freedom to choose. It’s also ironical that the three leaders, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and his deputy Anil Vij, who have chosen to never marry, are obsessed with other adults’ romantic choices.
The solution is not law on love jihad, but to empower Muslim women and free them from clutches of Jihadis by prohibiting Hijab, Niqab etc., which makes Muslim women property of Muslim community.
In free society number of Muslim marrying non-Muslim women should be roughly same as Muslim women marrying non-Muslim men.
This strikes at the soul of the Constitution which the three worthies have sworn to uphold. Given the posts they hold, they are hardly fringe. What the honourable apex court makes of these developments is hard to judge. Ram Naam Satya hai sounds like a death threat in this context. No one should be surprised by a strong global reaction. Some of these gentlemen will no longer be welcome to travel in the West.

Even Europeans are currently facing the same problems. Wherein youth from certain community don’t work and whole time pursue woman from other community to marry n convert them, the threat is clear and present , and a agenda supported by religious leaders of theirs.
Yes the Indian constitution has given the freedom to choose but not the freedom to trick, coerce or emotionally blackmail into religious conversion. Especially when it involves marriage or love between individuals. The constitution cannot permit individuals to fall in love or marry on condition that one of them is made to accept the other’s religious identity or ideology. If two individuals are in love or wish to marry there is no reason why on marriage one needs to convert to the partner’s ideology , religious or otherwise. After all they met and liked each other whilst following their own beliefs.
