Army chief General Bipin Rawat is completely out of line in criticising student protests against CAA and NRC. He is factually wrong, too. The protests were spontaneous and leaderless. Men in uniform need to be neutral in deed and word. A politicised military isn’t even the last thing India needs.
Show me, please , ONE SENTENCE, in General Rawat’s speech where he refers to CAA. Reason why credibility of the Macaulay Media is at Neap Tide.
You are passing the judgment by asserting this violent protest leaderless. You are hand in gloves with the perpetrators of violence.
Fine edit in Indian Express. Concludes with the sentence : By being seen to make a partisan point in this moment, by appearing to fall in political line, General Rawat does damage to both his own reputation and to his high office.
The chief did not talk about CAA….Is there anyone who would promote arson & violence…?He rightly condemned it.Those who condemn chief for his remake are reading too much between the lines.
In advanced democracies military officers don’t make comments on events that could be misinterpreted. Moreover, this is not the first time he has made such a comment, in the past also he has made comments that were criticized.
Even if I did not know anything about General Rawat, I will support him just because the Congress and communist parties are criticizing him. These days, you can take it for granted that these parties are so perverted that they support only what is against the country’s interests.
Now the tukde tukde gang is after the Army there was nothing that the Army Chief said that is not in the country benefit
How does one define Tukde Tukde Gang ? No one can cut India into pieces, like what PM Indira Gandhi did to Pakistan. God threw away the mould after making Durga. So the closest we can get to this undesirable object is to divide the country emotionally, make people more conscious of the factors that divide them, their religion, caste, ethnicity, language, diet, dress, other cultural beliefs and practices. That enterprise is doing well, some use the Sanskrit term, Dhruvikaran.
Either General Bipin Rawat will make CDS or he will not. It will be known in a few hours. In either situation, his remarks earlier today were most unbecoming. If he gets the job, people will say he ingratiated himself, has been politically rewarded. He will then start his tenure in a new post whose aura and authority will have to be built up the conduct of the first few incumbents. If he is not chosen, he could not have left on a worse note. In my mind, he will always be remembered for the a Letter of Commendation he issued to Major Gogoi.
A subdued announcement of the next CDS. Little point in maintaining secrecy and suspense till the end. 2. Like a US President starting his second term, there are no further peaks to conquer. So the first incumbent of this office could create fine traditions of professionalism and political neutrality that ripple through the three services.
