New Delhi: The Centre has chalked out a major plan to overhaul sports culture in the country. Among the steps to be taken are sponsoring athletes right at the school level and recognising and incentivising coaches who have trained medal winners at various levels. Restructuring SAI

– The Sports Authority of India (SAI) will be revamped.

– By 2022, its strength will be reduced by 50 per cent; many services will be outsourced like auditing and cleaning to bring in professionalism.
